At the risk of sounding like a complete loser! If you need to back up your emails (in order to create a mailing list for example), then take a look at mailstore. Works really well and it is completely free - expect a mail shot soon!
For a web browser download Safari. Much smoother than IE and, from what I have heard, much more secure. To be honest - it looks cooler too - which is why we have it.
